Are you about the love of all things “vintage?” Does preserving the season’s harvest give you goosebumps? And does the scent of dirt make a peaceful feeling wash over you? If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, you’re in the right place! Welcome!
Come along on our journey in this 1850’s Mountain Farmhouse.
I’m Wendy, and along with my awesome husband, Joel, and our trusty dogs, Finn and Ollie, we’ve moved to a new chapter in our lives. We’ve been downsizing, homesteading, intermittently empty-nesting, and entering pre-retirement.
A bit much, you say?
It absolutely is!
But we feel that this is the right time for us. We love all things about home and garden.
Permaculture
First, have you ever heard of Permaculture? In 2015, Joel and I became Certified Permaculture Designers. Permaculture, by one definition, is “regenerative sustainability,” and it is usually described as a design system that focuses on the garden, farm, food, and homestead.
We love how applying Permaculture Principles to our own home and garden has enriched our lives. We also love sharing ways you can enrich and enhance your own life by using these Principles as well.
Second, start here – “Permaculture Ethics-My Why,” for an introduction that gives a glimpse of what drew us towards Permaculture in the first place. These ethics are simple, beautiful, and practical.
Third, join us and be inspired as we share and learn together – cultivating, cooking, cleaning, creating, and crafting. Not only will we focus on the practical applications of embracing more of a plant-based home and garden, but also, we hope to fuel your creativity.
Furthermore, wherever you are in your life’s journey, you are always welcome here at The Mountain Farmhouse!
We hope you will come back to visit often. And feel free to reach out and introduce yourself!
Blessings to you and yours!
♥
