A delicious, simple comfort food.   Perfect for a cold winter morning, or any other time a dish of comfort is needed.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup rolled oats
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon or to taste, of each of the following:
  • Brazil Nuts chopped
  • Walnuts chopped
  • Raisins
  • Optional - 1 teaspoon or to taste, of each of the following:
  • Maple Syrup
  • Cinnamon Ceylon preferred
Instructions
  1. Bring water and oats to boil in a saucepan.
  2. Turn heat to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and toppings to taste.
  4. Serve.
Recipe Notes

Another variation on the basic comfort oatmeal recipe.  Look at what is in your freezer or pantry and use what you have.  The only limits are your imagination and your ingredients!

Example - Use half water and half unsweetened vanilla almond milk, as well as some frozen berries and chopped mango.  The spices are cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.  It is creamy and oh, so fruity.  Enjoy!
