Easter crept up on us early this year! Do you have everything ready to go? In the whirlwind of preparation, I’ve often had everything ready except that one last-minute item . For example, this year, I have the chocolate, but I forgot about the basket! Maybe you’re having company? Nieces, nephews, and/or grandchildren are coming and you need a quick, fun idea? Using just a few things which you probably already have at home, you can whip these up in a jiffy!
The Easter Bunny Bag
Supplies
First, round up your supplies. You will need:
Brown paper lunch sack
Markers(or crayons)
Pencil
Scissors
Step One
With the pencil, draw an outline of the ears and face. Keep the upper right sides of the bag connected – about 1 1/2 – 2 inches or so. Make sure the tippy-tops of the ears are at the top opening of the bag, like so:
Step Two
Using the scissors, cut on your penciled lines:
Step Three
Color the bunny head features with markers (or crayons):
The final product ought to look something along the lines of this:
Step Four
Open each bag and stand it up. Fill with small candy or toys, or have the children use them to collect eggs in a hunt!
If you wish, you can have the youngsters make these themselves. Depending on their ages, you might opt to use crayons instead of markers, or safety scissors instead of the sharp type I have in my illustrations. If you are so inspired, embellish even more with stickers, glue, pom poms(for a little tail in the back, perhaps), etc. Draw or glue a bow tie or a hair bow. The important thing is to have fun!
Wishing you and your families a very blessed holiday this weekend, whether you are traveling or staying home. Happy Easter!
