Easy instructions for sourdough starter

Ingredients
  • 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Water Non-chlorinated Be careful not to let the starter get too thick or too runny
  • 1/2 Cup Whole grain or all-purpose unbleached flour
Instructions
  1. Mix water and flour in a bowl.
  2. Transfer mixture to a quart-sized Mason jar.
  3. Loosely cover the top of the jar with the lid, or with a coffee filter and rubber band.
  4. "Feed" every 12-24 hours:  Remove half of the starter, then add another 1/4 Cup water and 1/2 Cup flour.  Mix well.
